The past few years my husband and I have been acquiring knowledge about cancer treatments. Simply put, we have both had cancer. I am in remission and my husband is fighting. He is on a study and doing very well. As we continue with his treatments one highlight is seeing the same people over and over again. Fellow warriors waiting for test results or having a treatment. I don't know if we are happy so much for their company or happy to see people still in the fight. Some of these warriors we get to know pretty well and a few remain in our thoughts and prayers after only a brief encounter. It makes us a little nervous when we go and don't see someone for a few weeks. We wonder if they are OK. Hoping our schedules are just a little off. We rejoice when they are there the next week or we continue to wonder if they are not. Another week and we continue to wonder. Maybe they beat it we tell ourselves hopefully. We could ask a nurse, she couldn't tell us but we would know. Another week and we wonder, afraid to ask.
